LOBBYWe ask all parents to remain in the front lobby during your dancer’s class time. We will take all classes from the front lobby and all teachers will bring classes back to the front lobby when class is finished. Our back lobby area is for our company dancers and we ask all parents to remain in the front lobby for the safety of all dancers.
BATHROOMPlease remind your dancer to use the restroom before class. It is a huge distraction for the entire class when dancers are leaving during instruction.
DANCER REGISTRATIONPlease note that we do not allow dancers to dance in a class level above their age. Any dancer is welcome to dance down a level if they choose.
PREP COMP CLASSESAll prep comp classes will attend 2 regional competitions in the spring. These competitions are required for all dancers that have registered for the prep comp classes. These fees will be charged to your account if you choose to participate in the prep comp class.
If your child’s teacher feels that they are behind the level of the class your dancer may be asked to transfer to another class for their age. The prep comp classes are held at a higher level and we want to make sure that all dancers are progressing at a comfortable rate.
ATTENDANCE Good attendance is key to both individual and class progress. Please notify the studio in advance if you must miss class. You may attend another class at your level to make-up any missed classes thru April.
DANCE TROPHIESTrophies are awarded annually at your dancer’s final show. The “number of years” your child has danced will transfer from other studios and is a cumulative number for the trophy.
PROPER ATTIREFemale dancers are expected to wear dancewear to class to enable the instructors to see bodylines for correct body placement. Dancewear is defined as: leotard/tights/crop top/booty shorts/jazz pants. Hair should be pulled back and secured.
Male dancers should wear shorts and shirts (not baggy) or fitted sweat clothing.
TEACHER CONTACTIf you would like to speak to a staff member regarding your dancer please e-mail misskara5678@gmail.comand we will set up a meeting at your convienece. We kindly ask you not to grab the instructor in between classes, as they usually have another class to teach.

All Seniors, Teens, Pre-Teens, Juniors and Petites will be required to attend 1 convention during the 2011-2012 dance season. All costs for required conventions and master classes must be paid whether you attend the class/convention or not.

COMPETITIONS All 2012 competitions are required for each dancer. The schedule for the spring will be out in August and we ask that you schedule all spring break plans around this schedule. By committing to Northern Force you are committing to the 4 regional competitions that we attend each spring. Please note we do not get a schedule from the competition until 7-10 days prior to the event. We will not know which day your dancer will dance so we ask that you please schedule any travel plans after the competition is completed. Thank you!
TIME COMMITMENTMostNFDC groups meet 3 days per week throughout the year, with a few exceptions. As we get closer to competition or with master teachers and choreography extra rehearsals may be scheduled. All group members need to attend extra practices if the group is to perform at its best. Good attendance is key to both individual and group progress. We reserve the right to limit participation of students with excessive absences. Senior and teen dancers: please note that work is not an excused absence. Please schedule work commitments around your dance schedule. Any ballet classes missed by Seniors/Teens must be made up. You have 2 weeks to make up a missed ballet class or an additional class will be added. Please make sure you sign in at the front desk for your make-up class to ensure that it is credited.
SHOE REQUIREMENTS All dancers need a pair of split sole ballet shoes for ballet class. Any dance shoes you have will be fine for jazz and tap class. Once costuming has been determined we will size all dancers for the correct shoes. All performing group dancers are required to purchase correct shoe styles for competition.
PROPER ATTIRE Ballet Class – female dancers must wear a solid color leotard with pink tights and ballet shoes. Hair needs to be pulled back into a bun. Male dancers should wear a t-shirt/tank and shorts.
All other classes – female dancers may wear any type of dancewear just no baggy clothing. Instructors must be able to see bodylines in order to determine correct body placement. Hair should be pulled back away from face.
