TUITION FEE SCHEDULE 2008-2009
Performing Group tuition payments are made for 10 months (September thru June), $95-$170 per month depending on level and grade. Payments are due on the first lesson of each month. A 5% tuition discount is available for yearly pre-paid tuition by September 30, 2008 using cash or check.
The school does not deduct for illness, vacation or absences. Monthly statements are sent only if you are delinquent in your payments. Any payments made after the month in which they are due will automatically incur a late charge. If monthly payments are not met, the school reserves the right to withhold service until payments are made.
Enrollment is normally for the full term (September thru June). Proper notification is required for withdrawal of the student at any time, without notification you will continue to be charged for classes.
IMPORTANT: There is no refund on registration/tuition or costume fees (once costumes have been started) if you choose to withdraw.
CHARGE TO ACCOUNTS
You will be able to charge dancewear/shoes/tights etc. to your account only if your account status is current.
FAMILY DISCOUNTS: The Dance Studio offers family discounts on tuition for members of the same family. The first student pays full price/second student receives a 15% discount and the third student receives a 50% discount. Adults who have child(ren) enrolled receive a discount from 40% to 100% on tuition.
IN STUDIO MASTER CLASSES/CONVENTION/COMPETITIONS
Northern Force Dance Company will schedule master classes with nationally renowned guest artists for older elementary and secondary age level groups. These mandatory classes involve a separate fee.
Conventions which are held locally are open to all Northern Force students according to age and schedule of each individual convention. Convention costs run between $140-$180 per convention and some of our groups will be required to attend 1 convention each dance season but will also have the option to attend others.
COSTUMES
Costumes are purchased by each student. All performing group members will have 4 or more costumes and make 3 deposits staring in October of $125 to $250 each, depending on the age and group level. Final costume and accessory balances will be issued in the spring. NO refund on costume deposits once costumes have been started if you choose to withdraw.
SOLOS/DUOS/TRIOS/SMALL GROUPS
There is opportunity for dancers to participate in solos/duos/trios and small groups which will required additional class time, costumes, shoes and entry fees. Selection is at the discretion of the staff.
TIME COMMITMENT
Performing groups meet 2-4 days per week throughout the year. As we get closer to competitions and shows extra practice schedules are set for groups. All group members need to attend extra practices if the group is to perform at its best. Good attendance is key to both individual and group progress, We reserve the right to limit participation of students with excessive absences.
SHOE REQUIREMENTS
Every dancer (both male and female)needs a pair of split sole ballet shoes for ballet class. Any dance shoes you have will be fine for jazz and tap class. Once costuming has been determined we will size all dancers for the correct shoes. All performing dancers are required to purchase correct shoe styles for competition.
PROPER ATTIRE
Ballet Class - Female dancers must wear a solid colored leotard with pink tights and ballet shoes. Hair needs to be pulled back into a bun. Male dancers should wear a t-shirt/tank and shorts.
All other classes - Female dancers may wear any type of dancewear just no baggy clothing. Instructors must be able to see bodylines in order to determine correct body placement. Hair should be pulled back away from face.
SPRING SHOW
Each June group members will participate in a fully costumed and lighted production showcasing the year’s accomplishments. Exact show dates/location and procedures will be distributed in January/February.
NATIONAL TRIP
Each year we travel with our performing group members (this is not a mandatory trip) the decision on when and where will be announced in December.
FUNDRAISING
Fundraising is available to all performing group members. The purpose of the fundraising account is to help defray travel, convention/master class and competition fees along with costuming and shoes.
Participation in all fundraising activities is completely optional. You may participate in all activities or just those of interest to you.
